FIRMWARE LEAD

LightCode Photonics is developing novel 3D vision solutions to help robotic vehicles to see the world around them, avoid obstacles and position themselves. We aim to make autonomous operations widely affordable for automated mobility on earth, in the air, at sea and in space.


We are looking for a Firmware Lead to join our team.

As a Firmware Lead, you will be responsible for leading the firmware development team for building 3D imaging solutions.



WITH US YOU'LL BE DOING THE FOLLOWING:

🔹 Lead the firmware team, including planning and monitoring the work, supporting the team members and identifying resource needs.

🔹 Define and refine the firmware architecture of LightCode Photonics 3D cameras.

🔹 Build the roadmap for delivering firmware design according to the architecture with set features and define the technical tasks required.

🔹 Do hands-on firmware development.

🔹 Do code reviews to ensure good code quality.

🔹 Define requirements and review the results of outsourced firmware development.

ABOUT YOU:

🔹 Previous experience in firmware development, including leading the team.

🔹 Track record of successfully planning and executing firmware projects.

🔹 Good knowledge of embedded systems and their architecture; experience in the design of embedded systems.

🔹 Experience using ARM CPUs in designs.

🔹 Experience using periphery standards and protocols, e.g. DDR SDRAM, Ethernet, USB, LVDS serial transceivers, TCP/IP, UDP.

🔹 Proficiency in C/C++.

🔹 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

🔹 Strong interpersonal skills.


IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

🔹 Experience with FPGA design, FPGA-based SoC and/or “softcore” processors, e.g. NIOS/Microblaze.

🔹 Experience with embedded Linux, including kernel-space code architecture; designing kernel drivers for the custom periphery.

🔹 Interest in robotics.

🔹 Physics background.
