FPGA ENGINEER
LightCode Photonics is developing novel 3D vision solutions to help robotic vehicles to see the world around them, avoid obstacles and position themselves. We aim to make autonomous operations widely affordable for automated mobility.
We are looking for an experienced FPGA Engineer to join our team.
As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing computational algorithms in an FPGA SoC. The algorithms involve time-of-flight LiDAR data processing, sensor fusion with 2D camera, 3D video stream generation.
Your knowledge and expertise would contribute to the development of the LightCode 3D camera system. You will work closely with embedded software engineers for SoC MPU code development and with hardware engineers for PCB design.
WITH US YOU'LL BE DOING THE FOLLOWING:
🔹 Implement computational algorithms designed by LightCode in an FPGA platform.
🔹 Design and implement a soft-core processor system; interface it with FPGA and external hardware (USB, Ethernet).
🔹 Support FPGA SoC system as a platform for developing MPU code for further data processing and distribution.
🔹 Peer review FPGA code and design concepts.
🔹 Write developer-oriented technical documentation.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
🔹 Create deep-tech innovation, bring cutting-edge solutions to life and solve real-world problems.
🔹 Constantly grow while developing technically complex systems.
🔹 Improve your knowledge of physics, photonics and algorithms.
🔹 Be a part of an interdisciplinary engineering team with highly skilled experts in electronics, optics, software and firmware development.
🔹 Design your own work-life balance with flexible working hours, high independence and remote working opportunities.
🔹 Enjoy company events and a salary with stock options.
ABOUT YOU:
🔹 You have prior experience working as an FPGA Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer or Hardware Engineer.
🔹 You have a strong background in FPGA SoC development (“hard” or “soft”-core), including experience working with Avalon and AXI buses or equivalents.
🔹 You can design in Verilog and/or VHDL and know how to use simulation (e.g. ModelSim or equivalent) and debugging tools (Signal Tap or equivalent).
🔹 You are able to read and interpret PCB schematics.
🔹 You have strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
🔹 You are ready to take responsibility and ownership.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
🔹 Intel/Altera FPGAs and Quartus IDE ecosystem,
🔹 FPGA static timing analysis,
🔹 TCL scripting,
🔹 RTL and system-level modelling,
🔹 Embedded Linux.
